The Artothèque of Caen, created in 1986 on the initiative of the City of Caen, is a cultural organisation halfway between a contemporary art museum and a library. It proposes exhibitions of contemporary art as well as a collection of 2500 contemporary works which may be taken out on loan by the public.
Open on Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday 2 pm - 6:30 pm ; Wednesday and Friday 11:30 am - 6:30 pm

The Lower Normandy Regional Contemporary Art Fund welcomes contemporary artists through 4 to 5 exhibitions held each year. They also have a collection of nearly 950 works, available across the region in places able to receive them for exhibition (museums, cultural centres, historic sites).
Open every day (except bank holidays), 2 pm - 6 pm
Free entry
Can be reached on foot from d'Ornano Park(Ladies' Abbey) or by Veol (station 25, Clémenceau CHR)

The Caen Arts and Media College develops its activities in a new 11,500m2 building designed by StudioMilou Architecture : further and higher education, introductory workshops and a cultural programme open to all (exhibitions, shows, meetings ...)

Housed in the former Abbey of Ardenne, the Contemporary Publications Memorial Institute (IMEC) collects, protects and provides a fitting setting for archive collections, papers and studies and is dedicated to the main publishing houses, to reviews, and to all those involved in the creation and life of the book.
Exhibitions and meetings are regularly proposed to the general public.
Open every day except on Monday, 2 pm - 6 pm
